“Online Gambling a Hit with the Brits”

If statistics are to be believed, the British have been bitten by the online gambling bug in a big way. The number of online gamblers in the UK is way up, even just from one year ago.

The National Lottery gambling site continues to be the most popular site among UK online players, but it is clearly not the only site being frequented. In just one month alone – February of 2005 – 3.2 million British accessed Internet gambling sites, and of that number, 1.3 million logged on to the National Lottery.

With an increase in online gambling traffic of 45 percent over last year – a figure provided by Nielsen/NetRatings – it seems clear that the new online gambling rage is more than just a passing fad in the UK.
