But Baby its Cold Outside so Turn on Your Computer and Link Up to a nice Warm Online Poker Room
There is an old saying that goes "It is an ill wind that blows no one any good”. This phrase is likely to have a real meaning this week as freezing temperatures in the north and particularly in parts of Canada and the United States are a reminder to those online Internet operators in warmer locales that the inclement weather in the north can mean windfalls of business as online gamblers look for entertainment that they can enjoy in their homes.
One example of how this has been playing out is that of PokerStars. In access of 12,000 poker players played at their virtual tables during one 24 hour period so that this worldwide site, was able to exceed its already amazing average per day for that week of 8,000 online players. The next most visited site was Full Tilt Poker which reported during one 24 hour period as many as 6,362 online players, which also greatly exceeded their daily average for the week of 3,795 per day, and this is followed by Mansion Poker which recorded jumps in online terrific coming from the Midwestern states of the United States which have also been suffering from severe winter conditions.
There is still one drawback however, and that is that these Winter storms could possibly take out the power supply leaving computers useless.
The forecast however, is for more of the same this weekend, which could mean good business for online casinos from players stuck in snowbound portions of the United States and Canada and of the Northern parts of Europe.
