Bowman Transfers United States Players to the Benefit of Bodog
A halt has been placed on all of the online gaming activities in the United States of the British group Bowmans International. Those players residing in the United States have been moved to the quickly expanding Costa Rica based Bodog betting group.
The Bowmans International group is owned by British interests but operates from the Indian Ocean’s Mauritius Island. Although no information is yet available as to the reason for the company’s removal of activities from the United States, it is generally believed that it is the result of the anti-gambling legislation that was recently put into effect in that country, legislation which is attempting to put a hold on all financial dealings with offshore Internet casinos on the part of American players. This includes betting in poker rooms and on sportsbooks sites.
Bowmans International released information to all of its United States members informing them that as of November 28th, 2006, all online gamblers registered with Bowmans.com who live in the United States would be linked to Bodog.com, from which they would be now acquiring their online gambling and telephone betting services.
Bodog.com is a well established participant in the online gambling industry, according to the notice given to Bowman International’s United States players. The company was also described as being one of the fastest expanding media and digital entertainment concerns in the world. The United States clientele were informed that as new Bodog customers they would have complete access to the company’s complete array of online gaming and betting services. No details of any commercial arrangement with the Costa Rica based company were mentioned.
Information relating to the account of each United States based player is being transferred to the Bodog.com betting site, and all bets and deposits will be recognized. Each registered Bowman player is being sent an email that contains information regarding their new Bodog password and account number. They are also receiving a special "thank you" offer.
Both Bowmans and Bodog have signed confidentiality agreements to assure that all customer data will be kept confidential between the two companies.
