Chairman's spot for online gambling veteran

Nigel Payne, who happens to be among the online gambling industry's most knowledgeable and well respected executives, has received the GameAccount position of being a non-executive chairman of the board with special skills in games and network development.

Before this, Payne was Group Chief Executive at Sportingbet.com. By joining the GameAccount board, he is joining with a team of shareholders that features Dermot Desmond and the Smurfit family along with Betfair founder Andrew Black.

Kevin Dale, the GameAccount CEO, has been reported as saying that his company and the rest of the board are very much excited to have Nigel join the company. Dale also mentioned that Payne’s skill and understanding of the industry is among the highest being actually second to that of no one as he adds that GameAccount is looking forward to working closely with him during the coming months.

In the year 2000, when Payne initially joined Sportingbet, he functioned as Group Finance Director. The year after this, in 2001, he was appointed Group Chief Executive. During the following five years up until 2006, he was instrumental in bringing the company through several acquisitions as well as having the company listed on the London Stock Exchange, eventually being replaced by the current CEO, Andrew McIver.

Payne has been reported as expressing his elation at the new position with GameAccount and describes it as being among the largest gaming communities in the world, noting that blackjack, multiplayer blackjack, Dominoes and Backgammon are becoming increasingly popular on a daily basis during these exciting times.

GameAccount has been around for about six years, having been established in 2002. It functions as a one on one skill-based gaming provider dealing with regulated sportsbook, along with those casino and poker operators who are looking for a skill gaming solution that is single-wallet. Recreational gamers are one of the company’s prime target markets and it offers a proven portfolio of dynamic games which is very attractive to this market. The company views this market as being an effective vehicle for building and sustaining a broad user audience. Among GameAccount accounts are such major online partners as William Hill, Boylesports, Sportingbet Europe, Stan James, BlueSquare, Victor Chandler International, Paddy Power and Gala Coral.

Headquartered in the United Kingdom with its main offices in London, GameAccount his also received proper licensing through UK’s Gambling Commission to operate online games that provide real money prizes.
