The Standard Code Set Up By The World Poker Association Is Being Updated
Jesse Jones who is both a successful businessmen as well as being a well known poker professional founded the World Poker Association two years ago and now it is experiencing increasing membership. The World Poker Association has a practical Code of Ethics which they use to guide them with regard to standards of behavior during tournaments. This Code was published last week.
Within the five chapters of the Code you can find information regarding such topics as personal conduct all the way up to and including fair and professional play. It lists acceptable behavior and includes a personal oath, which each new member must take before being allowed entry into the Association. The World Poker Association consists of several of the very top international poker professionals along with well known amateur contestants.
There are included in the code what might be deemed general provisions dealing with such issues as collusion, the display of a lack of professionalism and disregard for common courtesy. Also included in the code are provisions that relate to general relationships between players, dealers along with management. The sole aim of the Code is the enhancement of professional like conduct along with an ongoing respect for the game.
The World Poker Association is a not for profit organization that is registered in the state of Nevada in the USA. Its membership is constantly growing and has now reached approximately 1,400 registered members. The aim of the organization and its reason for existing is to provide unity by means of an organization that is designed to positively affect the future state of tournament poker. It represents the views and opinions of individual players and of groups of players, and allows them one strong voice by which they may be heard.
Wendeen Eolis is also a part of the leadership of the World Poker Association in addition to Jesse Jones and is a part of the board of directories. Eolis is an influential American who is involved in legal, business and government affairs and has acted as a consultant to the organization. On the board is also Joe Hachem who is the 2005 World Series of Poker champ, Lou Krieger the editor and author, the well known top European player Marcel Luske, and finally Paul Wasicka, who was the runner-up in the 2006 World Series of Poker main event. Wasicka is also the winner of the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Championship.
