Former Virgin Games Executive Will Advise Company on Product Branding
Oscar Nieboer, past Virgin Games managing director of, has been contracted by Betfair the online gambling group, to consult on issues involving branding.
In order to prepare Virgin Games for the upcoming implementation of the Gambling Act 2005 in the UK that is to take place next month, Nieboer will counsel the firm on brand growth strategies. In addition to this he will be developing a marketing plan for Betfair offering them the benefit of his experience. The plan is to capitalize on the availability of a border scope of advertising opportunities. These are to include the use of television, to be applied to the promotion of online gambling companies in the United Kingdom.
While speaking about his appointment to the press Nieboer mentioned that the Betfair brand is established upon integrity. He announced that his clients will be proceeding with the plans with regard to the DCMS since Gordon Brown's appointment. He stated that they have purchased airtime and are making their plans in accordance with the present legislation.
The successful launching of Virgin's online betting and casino business was directed by Nieboer. His experience here is intended to help him to supervise Betfair’s extensive gaming portfolio, a portfolio said to include the brands Betfair Poker and Betfair Casino.
