Due to the Present Legal Problems in the United States the focus on Internet Gambling shifts to Asia

Subsequent to the U.S. legal problems of BetonSports, organizers of conferences are filled with anticipation with regard to the enhanced possibilities this will create for the Asian markets. Building momentum is the particularly technical-savvy Asia-Pac market. In addition they are looking forward to advantages as a result of the effect this may possibly have on online Internet gaming companies that are functioning in that region and that will now probably be looking to broaden their horizons.

One example of this is how the lotteries, gambling and mobile gambling markets have suddenly begun to appear prominently in the company portfolios of gambling and gaming companies. Europe however, has considerable potential and is leading the way with mobile applications.

Stamford Law Corporation’s  Yap Wai Ming, a speaker at the  2nd Annual Mobile Gambling Summit Asia,  says that the speed of improvements in mobile gaming technologies are exceeding the pace at which legal standards can deal with them. Yap Wai Ming says that the need for legal uniformity among national jurisdictions is going to be a major undertaking.

Connectivity is going to be a central issue with regard to succeeding in Asia in mobile gambling says Charles Palmer of Mfuse. He points out that it is one thing to deal with a few receivers but that cranking this up to the level of a multi-language mass market, a service that functions completely within the targeted areas, is another thing. It is the role of Mfuse to deal with this issue of download ability and connectivity within the Asian mobile gaming market.

Bruce Gibson sees this push toward setting up mobile gambling services in Asia as the main question that needs to be dealt with. Gibson, who is the senior consultant from Juniper Research says that the best approach can be through offering lotteries which are well known in the region and therefore are acceptable. He notes that such forms of gambling are applicable in both developing as well as developed markets, which are both present in Asia and don't require 3G networks. He says that once it is possible to move beyond the great increase in the activity being demonstrated by concerned companies and the technical problems that have hampered growth, it is up to online Internet gambling companies to bring it to the Asian public.

Kirschner Games CEO Marvin Tort from is truly excited regarding the up and coming opportunities. He says that Asia, as a function of its foremost technological advances and its current abilities to drive innovative synergies in technology is at the leading edge of a gambling boom in mobile gaming. Along with this, he says, will come mobile entertainment to include gambling opportunities, all at a new and higher level. Included is a drive in market anticipation which itself is at a new high, resulting from the fact that investors are looking forward to greater numbers of forms of entertainment and interactive games that can be broadcast through any mobile platform.

Between October 31st and  November 1st , the 2nd annual Mobile Gambling Summit will take place in Asia and include speakers from the World Poker Tour in Hong Kong, SportingBet China Gloria Lottery, and Ongame.

The Director of the 2nd annual Mobile Gambling Summit – Asia, Michael Setters, says that as the companies deal with the legal situation there will be a kind of ‘land grab’ to pick up market share. He says that even though mobile gambling may not have yet attained the heights that have been projected, companies are still striving to include some Asian mobile gambling property in their portfolio.
