Professional poker player picks up $325,000
Richmond British Columbia and the River Rock Casino Resort, the venue for the inaugural Annual Johnny Chan Poker Classic saw the end this week of its event culminating in an impressive triumph for pro poker player Henry Tran when he won a prize of $325,000.
Already two million dollars ahead in the chips when he sat down to play with Joe Corbett at the final action of the mainly pro tournament, he briefly and in a very short time played out a very professional and thorough, when he challenged Corbett with K-8 against K-6. When Corbett was not able to improve his hand, Tran received all of the honors, and left Corbett to be consoled by the $200,000 second placed consolation prize.
This brought to a close an otherwise fantastic event which truly was a thriller of a tournament. Featured were such great poker names as the great Johnny Chan, Greg "FBT" Mueller, Brad "Yukon" Booth, the poker prodigy Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke, and Lacey Jones.
