This Year's World Series of Poker to Be Broadcast by Radio

The World Series of Poker tournament will be available on the radio this year since Harrah's Entertainment is allowing Bluff Media which is owned by Bluff Magazine publishers, permission to create radio broadcasts live. This is a non-binding agreement and it awaits authoritative documentation.

Co-president of Bluff Media Eddy Kleid says that Boss Media is very much excited that they will be involved with Sirius Satellite Radio which is carrying the broadcast, and Harrah’s Entertainment through which the World Series of Poker is taking place. He says that they are delighted that they will be producing the entire radio coverage of the World Series of Poker. Kleid says that the World Series of Poker is the number one casino sporting event and that it offers the biggest reward that is available in all of gambling sports events. Kleid says that through Boss Media’s efforts listeners will enjoy the excitement of listening to the World Series of Poker live, and as it is taking place.

The World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, describes this airing of the series as being another first for poker. He says that by listening in through the Sirius Satellite Radio network those who are new to the game will be able to enjoy all of the thrills, colors, not to mention the action of the tournament along with having the perspective of experts who will be describing the event from behind the scenes on Bluff Poker Radio.

This event, the Bluff Poker Radio broadcasts of the live event of the World Series of Poker, will be broadcast only through Sirius Satellite Radio, and will be available on Channel 125. The broadcasts will cover a period of 43 days and will be on the air for a minimum of 10 hours daily. All of this is to begin starting on June 29th  and will go on until the last table is reached of this $10 000 buy-in No-Limit Hold ’Em World Championship. This final table is referred to mostly as the Main Event.

To be included in the World Series of Poker live Bluff Poker Radio broadcasts are such things as an analysis linked with each table and tournament. There will also be ongoing updates of the tournament along with interviews of the leading poker players. Listeners will be allowed to call in and give their opinions and of course the live play-by-play action will be described covering most of the 45 WSOP final tables.

Coverage of the 2006 WSOP will include broadcast veteran Howard David who is the present Bluff Poker Radio host and who formerly was the play-by-play announcer of Monday Night Football radio, who will be a part of the broadcast team being set up by Bluff Poker Radio, along with Nick Geber who is the Fox Sports World Analyst, and poker journalist John Vorhaus, who is very well-known and respected. Ongoing and on-the-spot commentary covering the Main Event final table will be provided by Phil Gordon, Celebrity Poker Showdown’s former host.
