The Industry of Online Gambling is Giving a Push to URU
Mr. Miles Carroll, is the GB Group sales director dealing with software that is involved with the authentication of data for online gambling concerns. According to Carroll, GB Group has recently improved it sales significantly. He also reports that Great Britain Group has been concentrating on its larger clients and by so acting has made its customer quality more acceptable. He says that the company’s efforts alone cannot be pointed to as having led to these growths since it is generally known that the industry of online gambling has contributed a great deal through its impressive growth. Among the concerns involved with GB Group is URU and its identity authentication facility. For the present year, GB Group is reporting outstanding initial findings. Indicative of this is the growth in revenues that it has so far experienced of 14 percent. In addition to this the company reports that it has seen a doubling in the number of its clients. GB Group sales director Miles Carroll says that one indication of the company’s success is that the term "URU-ing" is now being applied to the process by which IDs are being checked by online casinos similar to the term ‘Googling’ for when one uses the Internet to look something up. This term of "URU-ing" is being used by many of the company’s clients and is being more commonly referred to in the industry. In Great Britain, Carroll claims that URU holds 80 per cent of the market is relates to the business of e-gaming. He says that GB Group’s closest competitor has only 7 percent of the market.
URU is now being widely applied for gambling online and for making online purchase. GB Group has formed a joint company to market URU combined with British Telecom.
Until 2010, GB Group is planning to double its size every other year. According to Richard Law, Great Britain Group’s Chief executive a recent Manchester Business School study conducted on behalf of Great Britain, estimates that by 2010 the electronic identity checks market in the UK will have grown to a figure of over 300 million electronic checks annually. This amounts to a figure in access of 200 million sterling or about $368 million US. According to Law, in the ongoing battle against internet fraudsters for the e-gaming industry, identity verification and is a very important service. This is especially true in view of upcoming 2007 possible introduction of licenses. According to Law, this has been discussed in the 2005 UK Gambling Act. Law sees it as an important social responsibility to protect the youth as well as the vulnerable. He says that GB Group is concerned about helping the online gambling industry to deal with the challenges that regulations in the future might present. He says that it is good for one’s business to show social concern and responsibility in controlling for age.
