Online Poker Site Leads the Field

A new press release has been issued by the 3D online poker firm PKR.com in which it boasts that its poker website has come out tops in the Hitwise Gambling (Poker) category, finishing ahead of other major players like William Hill Poker, Ladbrokes Poker and VC Poker in the number of visits from UK players. Based on the market share of visits among all UK websites, PKR.com came 1st in the Hitwise Gambling-Poker sector, leapfrogging its major rivals.

Hitwise is an online competitive intelligence service that provides insight into the interactions between 8.4 million Internet users and over 1 million websites across 160 industries in the UK.

PKR Marketing Director Simon Prodger said, “We are really delighted with this award. We have seen some phenomenal growth and it’s not slowing up. We do not accept US players so to achieve the top ranking in the UK is fantastic.”

In February, PKR.com hit the 1.5 million user mark, and by the end of that month the site had climbed to 17th on Pokerscout.com’s online poker real money gaming report, overtaking established sites such as Betfair and Ladbrokes. The award caps an impressive start to 2008 for the next generation poker room.
