Great Britain Television Station ITV Signs Agreement With Gala Casinos To Televise Upcoming Poker Tournament
Following the outstanding agreement between ITV4 and Gala Casinos, British viewers can now look forward to a real poker treat, which may result in the televising of all of the six festival events connected to the Great British Poker Tour at some point later this year.
Presentable, the television production firm, claims that it was the factor that started the global boom in televised poker matches, back in 1999, when it introduced with Late Night Poker. The company is filming the entire key play from every one of the events of the 5-day festival compromising the Edinburgh, Teeside, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Leeds Great British Poker Tour.
A spokesperson for Presentable company announced that the play at each of the final tables will be televised completely in order to show how each regional winner arrives at their festival victory. The announcer for this televised series is to be Alex Jones. The series will consist of 12 one hour shows. Included among those to be shown on air will be a number of celebrity players. As of the present time, Norman Pace from comedy duo Hale & Pace, Michelle Heaton of Liberty-X, and Doug Henshall of ITV1's Primeval, will all be seen Great Britain Poker Tournament.
The relationship between ITV and Presentable is said to go back some time according to Gala Casinos operator, Nick Potter of Gala Casinos said. He sees that's as adding yet another dimension to Great Britain Poker Tournament play. He says that up unto the present time this tour has been massively successful. He also announced that his company plans to work with Presentable and the poker community in order to attain some great programming content where all of those who truly love poker will have a good time.
David Fewings, who is the ITV4 Channel Controller, has said that his company looks forward to having The Great British Poker Tour appearing on ITV4 this Fall. He voiced his certainty that the popularity of poker, which he sees as growing every day will only be enhanced by this popular contest.
