Due To Situation In United States There Is Drop In Revenue Over Same Quarter Last Year
Playtech, the turnkey provider and online games developer says that its total revenues for the first quarter 2007 have increased over those for the fourth quarter of previous year but are less than those of a year ago when United States online players were allowed to play at the firm's licensees web sites. Total revenues are up 14 percent from the last quarter of 2006 reaching US$19.8 million. Compared with revenues for the same quarter of last year, however, there is a 5 percent decrease.
Compared with the fourth quarter of 2006, revenues excluding United States input, have increased by 22 percent compared and are up 85 percent compared with the first quarter of 2006. All this underscores the affects of the US withdrawal.
Playtech also reports that the merger of Tribeca licensees into its iPoker network is a month ahead of schedule. This is acting to double the number of players that are registered to play on the network, making it among the largest on the Internet. Opportunities for growth in the European market have been steadily growing and are expected to continue in their growth. There has however, been a slowdown in the company’s Asian segment. This has been attributed to the restructuring of one of its licensees. This restructuring will be completed by the end of Q2 2007.
