Seals Campaign Launched By Ecogra's 100 Online Casinos & Poker Rooms
ECommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) this week unveiled a fresh campaign to augment the number of online casinos and poker rooms dedicated to player-safe gaming, hard on the heels of its declaration of 7 new poker room certificates for the awarding of the "Play It Safe" seal. The campaign has been called the "100 Seals Campaign.” Its goal is to uphold high standards while boosting the number of certified top-tier venues that are entitled to display eCOGRA’s "Play It Safe" seal from 76 to 100. It is expected that the campaign will get through to added audiences in Montreal, Canada, at the eighth annual Global Interactive Gaming Summit & Expo (GIGSE) 2006. ECogra Chairman Michael Hirst will host a panel entitled, ‘Self-Regulation: Best Practices to Play It Safe’, at 2.30pm on Wednesday May 17th. Industry personalities such as Andrew Beveridge (CEO eCOGRA), and Roy Cooke, Card Player Magazine, along with well-known players’ advocate Ted Loh, will be included on the panel. All GIGSE attendees as well as the media are invited to take part. Beveridge is reported as saying that a substantial percentage of the total global online gaming business is already handled by ‘Play It Safe’ online casinos and poker rooms. He is also reported as saying that the organization intends to extend the player protection that is a built-in part of their organization’s international standards. They will do this by bringing on board and before the year's end, more top-tier online gaming software providers and licensees. At the present time, there are more than a dozen poker sites and casino sites that are undergoing the third-party inspection and monitoring process that is a part of eCOGRA’s certification process. When a site bears the “Play It Safe” seal, it helps them to not only attract and retain players, but furthermore it tells the world that this is a site that constantly maintains regard for players’ needs by upholding the qualities of trust, honesty and fair gaming, and keeping them as a high priority. Those who will participate in the 100 Seal Campaign will receive: • Independent inspection, enforcement, monitoring, and infrastructure that is applicable worldwide along with cutting edge, player-sensitive standards. • The services of a London-based, independent, “Fair Gaming Advocate” who helps to resolve player disputes within a period of just 48-72 hours on the average. • Professional training, marketing support and services to achieve best international business practices and to operate with responsible gaming standards. • Expertly shaped guidelines and measures designed to curb underage and problem gambling, that are backed by in-depth personnel training courses. • In poker and mobile gaming, one-step-ahead standards designed to meet future challenges. An invitation to online gambling software providers and their licensees has been extended Beveridge who says that if as a company, you are ready to meet the 21st century challenges facing the industry, eCOGRA would like you to join them at 100 Seals Campaign and to become a part of one of the world’s most respected 100 online gaming sites.
