Fanball Fnds Timely Soccer Deal

The fantasy sports game developer Fanball, which last year was acquired by FUNTech for $12.5 million, clinched this week yet another significant UK deal.

Three British companies inked an agreement with the FUNTech subsidiary: Goal.com SA, Tiscali UK Limited and Underground Digital Media Ltd. to extend fantasy sports games. With the soccer World Cup about to start, one of the games is especially timely since it features championship soccer.

While the three other partner companies make available links to the games from their own sites, according to the agreement, Fanball is to develop and maintain the gaming website. Before the actual World Cup Finals, all sites are to launch the games.
