Bad news for online gambling

This by itself could be seen as good news for the gambling industry, but looks can be deceiving. Allowing regular casinos, is not bad for the online casino industry, were it not that the same bill seeks to outlaw online casinos, punishable with up to 2 years in prison, and fines that can go up as high as $ 25000.

The bill would include all means of telecommunication, which would include any type of network, and it would also be applicable for all residents of Massachusetts, no matter if a wager was placed in Massachusetts, or outside the state.

It would even become a crime to for people to install betting software on capable devices.

Though not voted into law yet, the writing is on the wall, and it is safe to say that the online gambling industry in the United States has some hard times coming their way in Massachusetts, and there may be more states with similar bills not far behind.
