New acting Director of Gaming Enforcement for New Jersey pledges to aggressively monitor Atlantic City casinos
Thomas Auriemma who served as Director of Gaming Enforcement for New Jersey for many successful years before his recent retirement last month, is to be replaced by Yvonne G. Maher who will be his acting successor, it was announced recently.
Ms. Maher, which is forty-five years of age, was an assistant attorney general for the state of New Jersey and also acted as a prosecutor for that state who was attached to the Division of Criminal Justice’s Casino Protection Bureau for greater than four years, a time during which she prosecuted casino-related criminal cases. Before that and for two years, she served as an assistant Atlantic County prosecutor.
Ms. Maher has publicly announced her dedication to continuing the aggressive monitoring of the health and veracity of the casino gambling industry in Atlantic City. This was in a public statement that followed her appointment as acting Director of Gaming Enforcement for New Jersey.
