Youth Foundation To Profit From Bodog Benefit
Subsequent to the Bodog sponsored Los Angeles Lakers 3rd Annual Celebrity Poker Invitational and Casíno Night, the LA Lakers Youth Foundation was given a financial boost to its treasury this week.
Calvin Ayre, the Bodog CEO, along with Dr. Jerry Buss the Lakers owner, were available in order to welcome guests to the event. The event was carried out in Santa Monica at the Barker Hangar. John Horne, a Lakers fan won the poker game. Second place went to Rossi Morreale of Extra.
Guests were educated on how to play poker at the "Bodog Poker Boot Camp", during the fundraiser. Free poker lessons were provided by Bodog Girls.
Those Bodog and Lakers friends and family who were at the event included: Dean Cain, Penny Marshall, Phil Jackson, Magic Johnson, Jeanie Buss, Paris Hilton, Michele Merkin, Marcia Cross, Lacey Chabert, Josh Duhamel, Regina King, Anne Heche, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Rick and Kathy Hilton, Jeremy Piven, Olivia Wilde, Brody Jenner, Shannon Elizabeth, Jennifer Tilly, Annie Duke, Ricki Lake, Bai Ling, Jon Rose, Jon Kelley, Phil Laak, Linda Rambis, David Anders, Rue and more.
Past and present L.A. Lakers in attendance included: Von Wafer, Kobe Bryant, Sasha Vujacic, Lamar Odom, Smush Parker, Kareem Abdul Jabbar Chris Mihm, Luke Walton, Devean George, Jim Jackson, Kwame Brown, Andrew Bynum, Brian Cook, Aaron McKie, Ronny Turiaf, Kurt Rambis, and Devin Green.
In a check donation made at some point in during the halftime at a Lakers vs. Clippers game at the Staples Center, Ayre gave $150,000 to the L.A. Lakers Youth Foundation. The L.A. Lakers Youth Foundation were benefited by one hundred percent of the event proceeds, which will provide financial assistance to well over 30 Los Angeles area children's charities. The L.A. Lakers Youth Foundation provides medical care, education, and after-school activities for at-risk youth through its several programs.
