Antigua to Host an IMF Teach-In for Regulators
This week, in Antigua and Barbuda, regional regulators of online casinos and internet gambling operations are getting together for a training seminar/workshop on combating money laundering.
In collaboration with the Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening (FIRST) Initiative, and the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is presenting the one-week workshop.
According to Kay McDonald, the Financial Services Regulatory Commission’s Director of Gaming, by making available a forum to review new international standards that may be applied to casinos and internet gaming entities and their regulators, the workshop is intended to be highly interactive.
The occasion will also be used to examine the principal vulnerabilities and money laundering risks in the sector, according to Director McDonald.
