With Revenues Going Upward 32RED Comes up All Trumps
Gaming firm 32Red is being boosted by the continuing expansion in online gambling. Today it helped it to post a 67% increase in 2005 revenues reaching £9.8 million. Casino games remained its big earner. The games include roulette and blackjack. These games alone brought in £8.9 million, an increase of 57% from 2004. Poker however is what is causing the real surge in interest in online gambling over the year, with revenues increasing by 339% to £830,000 based on this game by itself. In addition to this, the number of actively playing online poker players rose 277% to just under 7,000. Around 83% of 32Red players are in the UK, although the company is based in Gibraltar. The firm was first listed on the stock market in September. It claims that it attempts to give its games glamour and an extremely British feeling. One gimmicks that they use is to have actress Patsy Kensit serve as the voice of the casino dealer.
